Join us at the IFAI Expo 2005 - Booth #7156 |
If you are planning to attend the IFAI Expo 2005 in San Antonio, TX, please visit us in Booth #7156. The Expo is taking place from Oct.27- 29 at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center.
As a member of the Lightweight Structures Association, we would also like to encourage you to attend Fabric Structures 2005, which will be held on Oct. 26-27. Among many distinguished speakers, Mahesh Senagala, Associate Professor, University of Texas at San Antonio, will explore a full-scale design/build experiment carried out by his fourth-year architecture students. This project was conducted in partnership with over a dozen IFAI members, including Meliar Design and CAD Effects, with the use of MPanel as the design software. For a complete program and schedule go to www.ifai.com.
IFAI Expo 2005 and Fabric Structures promises to be one of the most interesting and informative meetings ever. Our MPanel Support Team will be on hand to demonstrate our latest release of MPanel, and to thank you for your continuing interest in MPanel.

Coming Soon...MPanel v11.5 |
MPanel v11.5 will be released in early November. This newest version has a number of features that make MPanel easier, more consistent, and more intuitive to use. Some of these new features include: |
More options on "Mesh to Poly" conversion. No longer need to snap panels together to merge them. Choose 'panel based' or 'screen based' orientation for all panel tools. Improvements in the Compensation and Merge functions. "Panel Output" can now draw interpolated ploylines based on splines and can rotate the panel through 90 degrees to fit a cutting table orientation. Line conversion tools enhanced to cover conversions from lines, arcs, circles, polylines or splines, and will draw interpolated polylines based on splines. |

Mesh to Polyline Conversion |
The improvements in this version of MPanel are intended to ease the design process by automating some common design processes.
An example is the “Mesh to Poly” conversion, which can be used to extract mesh edges or the seam lines.
This used to take several steps, using both MPanel and AutoCAD commands, but both of the drawings on the left can now be produced in a single mouse click.
The left hand drawing is the mesh edges, that may be used for fixed boundaries or embedded cables.
The right hand drawing shows the intended seam lines when the mesh is panelled. |
